About

Annie Liza Bergen is a Boston-based writer, focusing on not focusing at all. She enjoys the gentle rage of trying to set up schedules and plans and then not following them in any way, shape, or form. Her writing reflects this angst through persistently dumbfounded characters and unfounded confidence.

Annie enjoys exploring the many combinations and arrangements of all the written words. She hasn't fully explored all the possibilities yet, but is working on it. Some of these combinations have been published in esteemed venues like skirt! magazine, The Barnard Bulletin, The Quincy Sun, and Notable American Women (Harvard University Press).

"We spent a lot of time alone together, Nutella and I. The two of us would sit on the beach all day reading Newsweek (to keep up with happenings States-side), in addition to soul-enhancing tomes like The Grapes of Wrath. We were alone, but we liked it. We liked the peace and quiet. We liked doing pretty much what we wanted to do when we wanted to do it. Like any true and real love, all we needed was each other."
